Lyman 24' Sleeper Hardtop 1962

Extremely rare Lyman Sleeper Hardtop with sliding sunroof.  Only 429 Hardtops with the hull prefix "H" were produced and very few with the sunroof panel option.  Other original features include an integrated Mahogany swim ladder, remote searchlight, and dual air horns.  Full venting front windows with wiper on the driver's side.  The cabin sleeps two adults comfortably and has a venting glass porthole.

Handcrafted by Lyman Boat Works in Sandusky, OH, and sold new on Lake George, NY.  We are the third owner.  Full restoration from 2015-2017.  Approximately 1,500 hours of labor.  No expense was spared on materials and hardware.

The boat was completely disassembled and any rotted stringers, frames, beams, or laps were replaced.  Bilge painted correct Lyman Sand Tan.  The original plywood Mahogany veneer decks and gunwales were replaced with solid Honduras Mahogany planks.  The interior was finished with Mahogany veneer coaming boards and the Nautilex flooring was replaced.  Hull painted with Pettit Copper Bronze and Interlux Brightside paints (Flag Blue / Blue Glo White).  New hull tags installed.

Every chrome part was disassembled and re-plated.  They show as new.  All gauges and switches are original. Custom-made upholstery for all seating, V-birth, and engine cover.

Mercury Marine MerCruiser 5.7L with Multi-Port Injection fuel system.  285 hours on the engine and 1,144 total hours on the hull.  Borg Warner Velvet Drive transmission.  New S&S Propeller three-blade, brass propeller.  Adjustable trim tabs.  The original fuel tank was reconditioned and holds 60 gallons.

The boat was completely rewired during the restoration.  12 V electrical system with 2 batteries and a 3-way electrical switch.  New bilge pump. Custom-made Mahogany stern flag pole with light. Courtesy lighting (dimmable) throughout the cockpit.  USB charging port.

Before summer 2022, the hull sides and bottom were re-painted.  The transom was re-varnished and the waterline was painted.  Currently not working:  horns, tachometer, and oil pressure gauge. The boat comes ready to go with all lines, anchors, fenders, etc.  Original side curtains included, but not installed.

With only 155 hours since the complete restoration was finished, the Lyman is essentially brand new.  It has always been a boathouse kept.  This Hardtop is truly an outstanding family boat.  Comfortable in all weather, it stretches the boating season!

Hull Serial #H1327. This boat has a new lower price of $64,000!
